Get Messy Art Journal ♥ Caylee Grey

I started a new art journal this week. Not because I’m awesome and I finished my previous one that quickly, but because I’m less awesome and lost it. Yep. I always keep my art journal on the mini shelf under my desk, and I reached for it and bam, it’s not longer there.

So I whipped out one of my Moleskine pocket Volant notebooks and started in that.

I just finished John Green’s An Abundance of Katherines and had “fugging” on my mind.

I even managed to do a title page before finishing the notebook. Only ten pages in; new record.

These pages feel a lot happier than my previous journal’s. I hope it stays that way.

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practise our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal

PS: Husband decided to 1. Whisk me away for a surprise weekend away so that I couldn’t press the send button and then 2. Get kidney stones and be in hospital until yesterday. So Glitter Mail is coming tomorrow! Make sure you’re signed up.

Oh sweetie these pages are gorgeous. I love the simplicity yet I can see the work, fun and thought gone into them. I love their messages too. Fab honey. Just fab. xxx

Oh girl, you are killing this medium. I so love these pages. So creative.
(I have just cheated my week unplugged T___T but it was worth it! I miss the people including you! :D)

I’m inspired by your little journal. Also love your minimalism esp. now I know it is due to the lack of those pesky embellishments we crave. I like the skyline image v clever and also that I read joburg as Jobwig for ages, my bad, and wondered where that was.

These are just lovely. Bah I still have no title page! And Im worried about pollution too! Apparently it gets so bad that you cant go outside for a while. yuck! But seriously. I love these pages, so simple and cheery. I like how your style is evolving a smidge!

Ohh I just love the ‘Caylee Art Journal’ page and the ones with the stars…and all the rest! It’s getting harder to resist not starting a new project and making an art journal myself!

These are all so wonderful but those stars and that skyline, so so lovely!! Glad you’re back in the happy zone, it must have been a great weekend if the hub’s kidney stones couldn’t bring you down. I hope he’s on the mend.

I’m sad you lost your journal! But I guess one of the benefits of Get Messy is that we’re documenting the pages with photos as well. So it’s less severe as losing a journal that’s not documented. I wonder where yours scampered off to?! Anyway, these pages are great. I love how small this notebook is, and feel like it’s going to be a very interesting and fun task to fill it. Obviously I love those gold stars, but I also really love the Joburg page <3

Oh my, your pages are always so magical, lyrical. They always make me think. Thanks for sharing these awesome pages.
And it’s so sad, you lost your art journal. It’s like a little catastrophy losing a piece you made with your own hands that is just not replaceable. Do you have at least some photos of your pages from Get Messy posts?

  10. says

    what? You lost your journal?

It amazes me how many pages you create every week. These are very beautiful.
