My Favourite Tools

Moleskine notebooks | there’s pretty much Classic* ($13 for one) or Cahier* ($12 for 3)

Black pens | Sakura Pigma Micron* or UniPin Fine Line* pens work perfectly over watercolour and acrylic paint

Acrylic paints Golden Fluid Acrylics (expensive) – my fave is the Iridescent Gold Deep*, Liquitex (mid range) – I love their Mars Black* and Titanium White*, Americana (cheap)

Watercolours Kuretake Gansai Tambi* has the most beautiful colours for those who don’t like mixing colours (me). They are super vivid and glide on paper beautifully. Also, the palette includes gold, copper, and pearl.

Stamp ink | StazOn* stamp ink has no long drying time and looks really great over photos or paint (even watercolours)

Fun | Liquitex Acrylic Ink* is super fun for making splashes on your page, Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks* are a thinner version of the fun (my ULTIMATE is the gold ink*)

Get Messy | art journal community

Caylee Grey Courses | how could I not include these :)

Rachel Denbow – 52 Weeks of Art Journaling

Kara Haupt’s art journaling classes

I have the full Adobe Creative Cloud* because I use at least three of the applications every single day (Photoshop, Bridge, and Premiere Pro), and the others (InDesign and Illustrator) at least once weekly. I know that it is an investment ($49.99 pm), so if you’re still learning, I recommend starting with Photoshop and then going on to the other ones.

Adobe Photoshop CC* for photo editing, blog graphics, and pretty much everything in my life ($9.99 pm including Lightroom)

Adobe Bridge* for photo organisation (free!)

Adobe InDesign* for making PDFs for class workbooks, free downloadables, and printables ($19.99 pm)

Adobe Illustrator* for logos ($19.99 pm)

Adobe Premiere Pro* for video editing ($19.99 pm)

(If you’re a teacher or a student, you get 60% off Creative Cloud plans*)

Hello Lovely | Kelsey from Kelsey Especially

I feel quite intimidated introducing Kelsey to you. I feel like my words could never quite convey her awesomeness. That's what she's for. She's the one whose words make you feel like you're right inside her brain. I guess if memory keeping was a fruit, Kelsey would be...

Get Messy : An Art Journal Challenge | 01

The best, best thing about the internet is the people. Ironic, right ? It was because of the internet that I met the wonderfully kind, crafty Lauren. We are both creative class addicts and have a goal to actually stop them collecting in our computer folders and start...

Get Messy | 10 | Spain on the Go – The Beginnings

Hola! I was in Spain for the past week and a bit and as such have not worked on my formal art journal. I say formal art journal, because of course I've still been a little bit messy. I took a Moleskine cahier along with me and journaled as I went. It was my first time...

Hello Lovely | Kellie from Give a Girl a Blog

So you know there's this thing called Project Life, right ? Well, this chick called Kellie made it her own and created something she calls Project "My" Life. I love what it stands for, and I love how she makes it look. When I sent her the email inviting her to guest...

Get Messy | 09 | Minibook: 26

On my very first day of being 26 I made a minibook. I freaking love minibooks, they are my absolute favourite, but this is the first time that I gave it an art journal spin. I like how the first few photos came out. It's not finished yet, which you can see by the fact...
