This was my first week that I had to “catch up” on ever. There was such a mental block on it, and now that I’m done, I have no idea why. When I finally opened the Photoshop file, to keep interested I didn’t allow myself to use my go to products. I didn’t deviate too far, though, and went with One Little Bird.
This was a lovely, simple week. I like the weeks where I have big photos; they really break up the monotony of the pages. Although… if I do it too often, not blowing up photos will break things up. This was a good week.
I am completely jumping around with my Project Life sharing. You can always get an overview of my album for 2013 here, which tends to be. Next year, when I am back in South Africa, I will have a proper printing structure. It’s a 2014 resolution. I have the folders ready and everything.
I had a digital look back at my old spreads. While I’ve only been at this for ten months, I can already see a 180 degree progress. Some of my first pages I don’t like at all. Some of my recent pages I don’t like at all. I’m trying to convince myself that it is not about how it looks, but the fact that it’s there. I’m pretty sure my kids will look at the spreads and see how different T and I look instead of seeing that I used pink when I should have used blue. Unless they get my genes, and wonder why I used too little white space, or too much… then we’re screwed. BUT. I am coming to terms with the fact that I need to be kinder to myself.
So this is not my favourite Project Life spread. I redid it twice and could not get it to come together. So I gave up and moved on. But for the sake of consistency, I’m going to share it with you. This layout is the result of a week in Berlin, and another week participating in a Week in the Life. Too many photos, and also not wanting to put all of them in because I was doing a travelogue for Berlin, and a photobook for WitL. And then I ended up doing an insert for WitL, and I put it between my spread from Rome. Gosh.
