Project Life 2014 | Album Video

Project Life 2014 | Album Video

I made a video of my Project Life album for 2014 because I felt it’s a lot nicer to feel like you’re paging through the album rather than just looking at still photos. There’s only one album this year because we were kinda boring and we worked a lot, but I’m happy to have those moments documented.

Remember how I said that I have very few exceptions to my “no music” clause? I never said that I had a good taste in music. Hope you like the song.

Project Life 2014 | 30 – 34

My favourite part of falling behind on Project Life is that when you catch up there are SO MANY new things you can try. You have so many weeks to choose from when trying to find the perfect fit. It’s fantastic. Turns out this week had the perfect photo for the perfect cut out. It was my first time including a cut out directly into the rings. The left hand side is one of my favourite pages from my caught up layouts. Mainly because that photo is one of my favourites from the year, and the cut file is too.

Project Life catch up tips from these weeks:

  • again with blowing up a favourite photo to 12×12, this time I added a Silhouette die cut to make it fancy and look like it took a lot of time
  • be part of a creative team (haha). Weeks 33 and 34 for both for commitments and I had no choice other than to get them done on time. I even recorded my week 34’s process.
  • use a kit club – everything is already organised for you and matching. My Gossamer Blue layouts went even quicker than my digital ones do
  • use patterned paper as a journaling card, write over it, or just leave it plain and simple

I only realised what I had said after I told T “I wish there was such a thing as clear washi tape. The insert on the right hand side of the photo above was made very quickly with a cut file from a Pinterest photo, a bunch of gold stars for confetti closed up with sticky tape. It signifies my 07.07.2014 launch of love.

So much happened in July. It made it easy to catch up on everything because there were just so many photos to choose from.

Project Life catch up tips from these weeks:

  • keep it simple! For week 29’s inserts I JUST used plain journal cards, photos, and a few words as journaling. Zero embellishments.
  • blow a picture that you love up to 12×12, that’s an easy way of getting half a spread done quickly
  • I’ve always been a fan of full 3×4″ and 6×4″ photos, but when catching up it makes things so much simpler
  • add a white border to your full images to make it less busy
  • make inserts with big 12×12 pockets – they look fancy but are super quick

Do I even remember how to Project Life? I feel like I’ve been out of the routine for ages now. I haven’t shared anything other than through Paislee Press or Essence and as much as it has killed me, it’s also completely not killed me. Art journaling has taken pride of place on my second desk (some might call it T’s desk). But I did miss it a bit. Enough to do a huge catch up. Twenty spreads kind of huge… but more on that tomorrow.

I’m sharing my week 23. For more details on it, you’ll have to wait for the blog post on the Essence blog later this month. I absolutely adore how well the colours of the line worked with my week.
